We here at Christ Our King Church affirm our unity with the whole Church of Jesus Christ. We are orthodox, protestant, evangelical and charismatic. We affirm in their entirety the validity and integrity of the historic creeds of the past such as the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.

We believe in the one Eternal God who has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He exists as three equal but distinct Persons, mysteriously united in the Godhead which the church historically has described as the Holy Trinity.

We believe in Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, the eternal Son, who became incarnate as Mary’s virgin-born child, Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ. He is fully God and fully man. By his life, suffering, death, resurrection and ascension, He provided the only way to reconcile the Holy God and sinners, thus providing the only access to the Father. He now intercedes as High Priest before the Father in Heaven, awaiting the day when He will return to judge every person, living and dead, and to consummate His kingdom.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. He has been active since the beginning in creation, revelation and redemption. It is He who anointed the saints and prophets of the Old Testament. He convicts and woos the lost, gives new birth to the penitent and abides in the believer, perfecting holiness and empowering the Church to carry out Christ’s mission in the world. The fruits of the Holy Spirit expressed in the lives of the saints are the expression of the character of Jesus, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit operating in the saints are the ministry of Jesus in the world today.

We believe that humans are unique in all the created order in that we are created in the image of God. Since the fall of Adam, however, sin has defiled and corrupted every human being, has separated us from a holy God and has condemned the entire race to eternal punishment in Hell. The sin of man has marred the entire created order. Salvation from this curse of death can come only by accepting the free gift of eternal life offered to all who place their faith and trust in the atoning work of Jesus. Faith in Jesus brings a new birth of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. It is this new life in Christ that produces the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. No fruit means no new life.

We believe in the Bible as the only written Word of God. The Holy Spirit of God inspired, led and guided the authors of the Old and New Testaments to perceive, understand and record God’s truth with complete accuracy. The Bible is supremely authoritative for the Church’s teaching, preaching, witnessing, identifying error, correcting the erring and training believers for ministry in and through the Church.

We believe in the Church as the Body of Christ present on this earth. The Church is made up of all truly born again believers in Jesus. Its authenticity is to be found wherever the pure Word of God is preached and taught, wherever the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion are celebrated in obedience to Christ’s command, wherever the gifts of the Spirit build up the Body and bring spiritual growth and wherever discipline is administered with love under the guidance of the Word of God.
